Lizzy and Erik's Wedding Flowers

When brides contact us regarding wedding flowers we often encourage them to look through Pinterest and then screen shot or print out what they like. That way, when we meet with them in store we have a starting point to build their wedding dream from. As well as that, we ask them to also bring a photo of their bridesmaids dresses or a snippet of the material the dresses will be made with. So, for Lizzy's wedding flowers she wanted bouquets of peach and mint tones to both contrast and complement the teal dresses below.

When Lizzy showed us the flower types she liked for her bouquet it became very obvious that she had, unbeknownst to her, picked out soft delicate Summery flowers. The little problem here was her wedding date was set for August. Oh dear, her whole heart set on Summer wedding flowers for a Winter wedding! This is where our expertise and creativity come into play - how to make a Summery bouquet with seasonal flowers in August. It can be done with a little love and magic.

Lizzy also wanted a natural stem, handpicked style clutch of a bouquet. Whimsy and wistful, soft with pops of colour here and there. It was a challenge, but also very fun, shopping at the Sydney Flower Markets for what we would need and we came away with this dreamy mix.

The real magic began under Sarah's expertise, and with the following ingredients:
Dusty Miller
Poppies
Freesias
Lisianthus
Ranunculus
Parrot Tulips
Billy buttons
David Austen Roses
Queens Lace

The result: delicate beauty with shades of blush and sun-golden gold. The parrot tulips with their lace-like edging are a beautiful feature in the bouquet.

For groom and groomsmen buttonholes of white roses, peach ranunculus, dusty miller and hypericum berry.

For cake decorations we gathered geraldton wax, ranunculus, freesias and lisianthus.
